Who we are.
The Marc Restaurant is looking to add a Sous Chef to our team. The Marc is a French Bistro downtown
Edmonton and has been in operation for 10 years. Chef Spencer Thompson has led the kitchen for the
last 3 years and as we reopen post covid and all the drama that was surrounding our industry as of late
we are ready to build on his strength. The restaurant is owned and managed by the husband-and-wife
team of Doris and Patrick Saurette and the restaurant has a strong following in the restaurant scene.
The kitchen team is a small brigade, menus are seasonal, we work with local producers and have many
special events that allow for creativity and opportunities to showcase talent and menu item
development. The sous chef will assist in training, leadership and work directly with Chef and the
leadership team in operations. This is a position to grow your skills in a very supportive and culinary
community-based operation. Food safety, cleanliness, organization of product and ordering, plus good
communication skills are expected abilities
The successful candidate should posses culinary training and/or 4 years equivalent experience on the job
with roles as Chef de partie.
The successful candidate will receive a salary based on experience, range is between $50 and $55K
annually plus health benefits and participate in gratuities. This is the start and role will be evaluated
annually with room to grow.
