|Culinary Instructional/Production Assistant|

|Responsibilities||Food Services and The Culinary Arts Program at Lethbridge College are seeking a highly motivated, self-directed full-time 12-month journeyman cook to provide support for day to day operations of the campus food services, including the food court, Garden Court and related events. The successful candidate will also provide instructional assistance and consultation to students on menus, proper techniques and proper use of tools and equipment.|
|Job Duties||To engage in the production of high-quality meals to Service College-related functions. May be involved in the production, planning and service of breakfasts, lunches, receptions, dinners, banquets, gala functions, conferences, and customer service all while following proper standards and sanitation. Additional duties may involve operating tills, POS systems, room arrangements for banquets, beverage preparations and any associated tasks that are required to service college functions. This may occur anytime between any Monday to Sunday each week and may involve split shifts. May spend 50% of time engaged in either capacity or 100% of time in either of the two functions based on college requirements.
Secondly to provide assistance to students in the culinary programs in the preparation, execution and production of high-quality food products for sale in our Food Court, Garden Court and banquet services. This may occur at any time between any Monday to Sunday each week. May be required to guide students in the practical understanding of industry concepts such as recipes, dairy products, baking ingredients, yeast goods, pastries, cakes as well as stocks, sauces, seasonings, soups, appetizers, buffets, cooking of savoury and sweet dishes as well as deboning of meat, fish and poultry.
|Required Qualifications||Red Seal endorsed Journeyman and 5 years in a supervisor role.|
|Salary||AUPE Class Level 9 Step 1 $48,092.36 per annum|
